This shade certainly isn’t new. Even so, it couldn’t be more timely. Or timeless, for that matter.
If you tend to be a little color shy, this is the perfect lipstick if you want to dip your toe into the sea of super-brights so popular this season. It has just the right amount of pop, without turning your lips into a neon sign.
But as on-trend as it is right now, it’s also incredibly classic. Somehow this shade manages to evoke that kitten-with-a-whip sexiness of Ann Margaret — especially when you pair it with a little kitten eyeliner.
The texture is smooth and creamy, and contains a “patented blend of conditioners and antioxidants” that help keep my lips from drying out (at least for a while, anyway).
This color is so gorgeous. The pinkish-coral hue can work on just about any skin tone, and it’s become one of my BBF’s (Beauty Best Friends) that I can’t imagine living without. It feels fresh and youthful, but never juvenile.
Thanks to the not-too-sheer/not-too-heavy finish, it also feels classic and sophisticated, but never dowdy or old-fashioned.
And it’s versatile! I’ve worn it for lunch with friends, client meetings and hot dates alike.
If you feel like your lips need a little definition to go with the color — 40-something lips start to lose theirs — NARS lipliner in Fantasia is a great match and what I’m wearing in this photo.
As an added bonus, the $24 price tag means I don’t get that must-save-only-for-special-occasions feeling.
